Final Devtober Update v0.21


Alright! I think that's it for this iteration of Cat On Board.

A summary of some last-minute additions and changes:

  • Removed the abrupt ending when you collect all the chicken wings -- the timer runs out as normal now, so you can work on getting a higher score!
  • Added a 'GAME OVER' screen that loads when the timer runs out, with options to return to the Main Menu or Try Again.
  • Music loop now plays seamlessly between scenes.
  • more new controls again:
    • JUMP and BRAKE buttons are now also    mapped to J and K keys, respectively.
    • JUMP button now triggers the 'cat-flip' trick if you press it again while in-air.
    • UP on-ground performs a 'manual' trick, press JUMP while holding UP and you'll go twice as high!
    • Press DOWN while on-ground for a speed boost, great for getting big air out of the halfpipes.

This whole thing has been an amazing experience, to say the least. Cat On Board is the first game I've ever made outside of messing with RPG Maker when  I  was still in grade school, and I'm blown away by how much I learned in only a month.
